This past weekend, the hubby, Boone and I drove the 13 hours back to Kansas for a very exciting event- my best friend's wedding! Sarah has been my best friend since our freshman year of college. She was maid of honor for my big day last August and I was so honored to be her Matron of Honor for her BIG Day this summer! Here is a look at the weekend... talk about a beautiful bride, amazing details and gorgeous color combo :) Did I mention the glowing bride and how amazing she looks with her new hubby?

He looks like a Polar Bear

So our "little" guy Boone, went from looking like this...

To this.... he has grown a little. Wouldn't you say?

Here he is at 9 months old!

Every time we take him out in public, we get at least 2 comments about how he looks like a polar bear. Tonight a 5 year old girl came over to give him a hug and said "if he was my dog I would name him Polar Bear or Marshmallow). Gotta love little kids and big puppies!  Boone came made the 13 hour drive to Kansas City this past weekend with us. He was such a good boy. He event got an ice cream treat! Here he is waiting for the ice cream...

Back at it...

My motivation is back. Blinds are ordered for the new windows in the master bedroom, scored an awesome new kitchen table that will seat up to 12 folks AND the dog has slowed down his destructive habits around the house. I also have taught myself (kind of...sometimes..) to take ONE project at a time and NOT to get overwhelmed by everything I want to do in the house....so... to kickstart this new outlook, my friend Angie and I are going thrifting tomorrow with the wonderful Rhoda

Stay tuned for some awesome finds (crossing my fingers) and some cool projects!

Crunchy and Hippie.

Our travel schedule is about to pick up again so that means house projects are a decline (have they even been existent? not so much-- got to get more motivation and make our minds up about stuff!). In the meantime, we will continue our fun weekend trips.

In March (I realize that was 2 months ago..whoops!), we traveled to Asheville, NC! It was amazing! We  I LOVED the endless yoga classes and beautiful studios. We met Eric's best friend from college for the SoCon basketball tournament and cheer on the Mountaineers. They went to the games and I went to the yoga mat. I visited Asheville Yoga Studio and a few amazing restaurants- including Early Girl and Tupelo! It was pretty crunchy...and I LOVED it!

Here are a few pictures from the weekend..

Let's go caulking..

well we have been up to some much needed house projects- these aren't as fun as decorating or painting..but they have been much needed to finish up some "ugly" marks in the house. the first one includes some base boards..

No baseboards....ugly! And yes..you might remember I remodeled the kitchen more than a year ago...so this ugly scene is what I kept seeing.
 SO much better!!!
I also did some rearranging and got this beautiful picture my parents gave me for Christmas framed and mounted!

So after we did the baseboards, we moved to the bathroom to re-caulk! The old caulk was just old..and dirty...and no matter what I did..I felt like the bathroom was ALWAYS dirty!

So.....with my box cutter in hand and some good music...this is what I tackled on Saturday/Sunday...

Actually looks clean! okay- so the grout is still not as "white" as I want it to be.....but it is clean, it's just old :( but i think it is a major improvement! it's the small things....

WIndow shopping.

I literally mean window shopping. Our house had a lot of originals when I bought it almost 2 years ago. One of those "originals" was the single pane metal windows. Those babies sure were ugly.

Some of them wouldn't even open or would open "pop" open after you tried to open them 15 minutes before.

So...after numerous hours of listening to sales guys talk about their double-pane window and all that their company will of offer that the "others" wont.. we finally settled on Lowe's. And after the final measurements and the credit card application was approved for 12 months 0% financing the house looks like this.... I am beyond excited!!!

Wow! I can finally explore the options of blinds and really see through the windows! Not to mention the power and gas bill should be a lot less in February!!!

The big reveal

I finally feel like I have one BIG project complete! The past 21 months I have been working on all types of projects on the house. Some of been "mandatory" like cleaning gutters, taking down dead trees to "optional" like replacing green counter tops with granite. I felt like I was all over the place and doing a project in every room. Because of this I have NEVER felt like I completed a room. I always felt like I had a TON of things to do (don't get me wrong- i do- but it was a heavy feeling). So....with the help of a friend and interior decorator I tackled the living/dining room. For the past 2 months I have ignored all other rooms when it comes "how should I decorate" and "what color theme should I use" thoughts.

We started by coming up with a color theme...i loved the pottery barn rug and so I broke down and bought it. This was the start of the room makeover. Here is a look at how the room has evolved over time... i am so happy to have pictures on the wall and matching "stuff."

Take a look....

before i bought the house..

Now...what room to decorate next?
